Direct Energy - SCAM!
This is the BIGGEST Scam company. We ended up wanting to cancel after a day of committing knowing that we have up to ten days to cancel.
They also did not give us a confirmation cancellation number but an agent number instead. They lied saying that data was not inserted into their data. BS! Idiots on the other line were rude and did not answer our questions.
Charged us a $100 cancellation fee even though it was their fault for not having the info. DO NOT CHOOSE THIS COMPANY!
They can go screw themselves and go away. Rude and ripoff
Reason of review: Poor customer service.
Monetary Loss: $350.
Location: Palos Hills, Illinois

Actually, the story above does not disclose all the facts. As is often the case, those quick to level venomous generalities at others often due so under the cloak of anonymity, denying the accused the right to face those accusations with facts. Those same people would scream to high heaven if that right were in turn denied them.
Do not have anything to do with this company. They will change the rules.
They say read the junk mail. Very poor customer service.
Completely agree! Worst company to do business with in North America.
Truly are scam artist. Untrustworthy and rude.
Stay away from them like the plague.
I cancel NEXT day .... get some conformation number BUT STILL get mail from ConEd about switching...
DIRECT ENERGY IS DIRTY SCAM
None of the above was true for me. Direct Energy does not have any fees whatsoever.
But they charge 10 per kw ameren 4.5 kw
Ameren at 4.5 kwh... variable rate. It's not that rate on a hot day with the AC running.
