I called Direct Energy using the number that appears on my NYSEG bill. When prompted I provided the phone number associated with the account.

I also provided the Direct Energy Account number found on my bill. The automated system did not recognize either of these numbers.

When an associate came on the line they asked for these numbers and still did not recognize them.

Not surprising to me because I NEVER signed up with them!

I urge people to check their bills and from time to time call these companies. NYSEG has been billing me on behalf of Direct Energy LLC for two years now and tells me I must contact them to discuss their billing yet they do not recognize their own Account number.
